Recommendation snapshot from October 8, 2026. Loading the example lets you rerun it with current card data and prices.

What to consider

  • Palantír trades away The One Ring’s protection and activated draw. Opponents influence whether it draws cards, so it is not an equivalent engine.
  • Both scenarios introduce The One Ring into a stock list specifically for this demonstration. They are not claims about the stock precon’s bracket.
  • A zero Game Changer count is one check. It cannot establish table fit or certify the deck’s winning speed.

Recommended changes

$19.19 estimated purchase cost · 1 proposed swaps. Shipping and taxes excluded.

The One Ring → Palantír of Orthanc

$116.27 → $19.19

The One Ring

Indestructible When The One Ring enters, if you cast it, you gain protection from everything until your next turn. At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 1 life for each burden counter on The One Ring. {T}: Put a burden counter on The One Ring, then draw a card for each burden counter on The One Ring.

Palantír of Orthanc

At the beginning of your end step, put an influence counter on Palantír of Orthanc and scry 2. Then target opponent may have you draw a card. If that player doesn't, you mill X cards, where X is the number of influence counters on Palantír of Orthanc, and that player loses life equal to the total mana value of those cards.

Before and after role counts
  • draw: 9 → 9
  • ramp: 8 → 8
  • removal: 6 → 6
  • wipe: 1 → 1
  • other: 76 → 76

Projected Game Changers: 0. Removing a flagged card does not certify a bracket. Review combos, winning speed, extra turns and land denial with your table.

Review before applying

  • Role targets are starting heuristics, not a deck rating. Review rules text and theme synergy. Prices exclude shipping.
